Lent Love146
This Lent all the proceeds from sales of my devotional books will be going to Love146 to support them in the work they do to fight human trafficking. Human trafficking is a huge issue today, with an estimated 27 million slaves in the world, over one million of which are caught up in sexual slavery. It is an injustice that we need to rise up against, and Love146 do great work in building safehouses for victims who manage to escape, and are involved in prevention and aftercare for victims.
So during Lent every penny of royalties I earn from sales of Reflections or A Spiritual Kick up the Backside will go to supporting their work, as they need it more than I do. That is crazy. I just finished watching an America’s Most Wanted special all about human trafficing. This is some really serious stuff. Did you know that th US is the most affected country from human trafficing?
yeah it is mental, I had know it was a big issue, but it wasn’t til January when I was watching some stuff from the Passion 2012 conference (in Texas actually) that I discovered just how widespread the problem is, and how it isn’t just something in far away countries. there is a big campaign to raise awareness starting this weekend run by A21 with a song release from Matt Redman and LZ7 (27Million)
