Foundational Love

<a class=Ephesians 1:4" width="300" height="187" />
Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.” Ephesians 1:4,7-8
How amazing it is that God loved us before he made the world. Before we were born, before our parents met, before the world was even formed He knew about us, and He loved us.
How unmerited it is – our sins are forgiven and we are showered with God’s kindness, wisdom and understanding. He sees us as without fault, even though we are full of fault.
His love never fails, never gives up, and never runs out on us.
No matter what we do we can’t make God love us less, or more. His love is unconditional, unearned and undeserved. Yet because of His rich kindness and grace, through the blood of Jesus our freedom has been bought and He showed us on that cross just how much He loves us.
No matter how far we run He never stops loving us – Romans 8:39 tells us that “Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord”.
This is foundational. We need to get that fact. We are loved by the King of Kings. The hands of the One who placed stars in the sky were pierced with nails that we may be called children of God. We are loved. We matter to Him. That is what gives us worth. When we fully grasp the fact that God loves us as we are then we will be able to ignore all the lies and bull the world tries to throw at us. No matter what others try to tell you, you are loved, and you matter. The cross is proof. Proof that you are loved. Proof that you matter.
You have been set free through the blood of Christ by the Love of God our Father. That is the foundation to the Christian faith. You are forgiven. You are free. You are matter. You are loved! Do you get that?
