Hey You

The world tells us that in order to fit in we need to dress a certain way, listen to the right music, look amazing, act like everyone else, and that if we aren’t rich or successful or famous then we aren’t important. We don’t matter. But God says we do. He says to each of us that we matter so much, that He sent his only Son, that if we just believe in Him we will have eternal life.
Do you get that? You matter to God. You matter so much that He sent his Son to die on a cross for you. So don’t let anyone convince you that you are worthless. Don’t let anyone tell you that because you didn’t get that promotion you are a failure. Don’t let anyone tell you that you are a loser because you aren’t going out with some guy or girl for cheap physical thrills. Don’t let anyone tell you that because you aren’t part of the cool crowd you don’t count. God loves you, and that is all that matters. He loves you with an unfailing love; the Cross is proof of that.
God doesn’t promise us the road will always be easy. He doesn’t promise to remove all hardship from our lives. In fact He warns us we should expect it. But He promises that no matter what, nothing will separate us from his love. “Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)
It may not feel like it right now, but you are loved by God. You may feel like it is not worth going on, but He has plans to prosper you and to give you a hope for the future (Jeremiah 29:11). Don’t lose heart. There may be pain in the night, but joy comes in the morning. You may be going through a rough spell right now, but as the old proverb goes, the night is darkest just before dawn. Hang in. Don’t give up. God is for you, and He will sustain. Trust in Him to strengthen and uphold you. Let Jesus give you rest from your heavy burden, and remember that no matter what, His love never fails.
